My name is Amy, and I graduated from University of Teesside, Middlesbrough, in 2008 with a BA (Hons) degree in Fine Art. The medium within fine art I use most often is acrylic painting although as much as I love painting, more recently I have mainly been making handmade cards and other decorative items :D

Artist Statement

I specialise in acrylic painting, and also undertake craft projects, mainly card making and decorative items.

My work within fine art has always had a personal theme of some kind running through it, with me basing each piece on something that I feel is of some significance within my life. Most recently, my work has been based on personal experience of ill health. Basing my work on such personal aspects of my life has always been important to me. I engage more with the work and feel even more of a part of it when there has been the personal reasons for doing it.

However, whilst I have my reasons for creating my work the way I do, I like the viewer to have thier own opinions on what they think the image is about, so therefore try and keep the personal aspect as a underlying theme.

I have my own story behind my work, but decide for yourself what you see.......

  • Interests: painting and card making, reading, music, films, tv, shopping, socialising, chocolate!!
  • Favourite movie: anything with johnny depp or heath ledger :) and any romantic comedies
